Colleen Durkin~ I am speechless!!

So~I opened my front door to have a look at my impatients to see how they were doing in this heatwave and I saw a package looking up at me...When I saw the return address I nearly had HEART failure because I KNEW EXACTLY what was in the box!! This young woman, Colleen, designs the MOST beautiful stained glass pieces and we had just had a conversation about trading a quilt for a star~ Well, Colleen, you have made my day with this most generous gift and I will send you a quilt in return~I cannot get over this magnificent piece of art~ Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you!

Munchie birthdays coming for my twins~(grand-daughters turning three a week apart)

As I finished the quilt tops I had a great assortment of fabric left and thought I would make two little doll quilts to match...and then I remembered how much Emma and Tara love toting their "Polly Pockets" around everywhere they go, so I made two bags with their names. Now because they cannot read yet I had to choose very different colors to eliminate a know, a birthday battle..Not that these two would ever argue or anything...

Home-made templates for large circles

I wanted a large circular template to highlight some of the floral fabrics on my vintage sheet quilt so I tried a blank cd and a warm iron+spray starch and voila~
I haven't decided if I am placing them randomly or in a swoop or in a garden type setting~ I thought I could also use some colorful ric~rac as stems amd quilt them like big flowers...hmmmmm...

Alises' quilt~

Slowly but surely~ very pretty~very large~

Please indulge me~my favorite picture...

L0ve this new couple~

Notice the gentleman leaning on the railing~we have no idea who he is...the thing is, when we see this moment with a young couple, we all just take it in...

Cute new hang tags, stickers and round business cards~

I am always looking for little accent pieces to keep me occupied and happy like a little kid~ I make all my business cards with stamps and ink but I worked with a gal on Etsy to design a small round card thet I can run a ribbon through along with Thank~You stickers for my bags...its the little things...

( sorry about the blur..little munchie fingerprints..)

This one above is called "Nothing in color" by Grace Errea from Ca.It is raw-edge applique. Pretty cool.

The two above are "The Tempest" Beautiful....

More from the show...

It seemed quiet at the quilt show this year (for a sat. afternoon). I am a huge fan of Christine Fries-Ureel who designed "A Water baby" and "Miranda". I am fascinated with the way she captured the leg under the water....
I am also a big fan of Diane Joe who did the three Picasso quilts...very cool..
It looks like the sparkly quilts are on their way out....more and more hand quilting.

Lowell Quilt Festival~2009 Our Quilt!

Oh Beverley~Our quilt looked beautiful! We are holding our own for sure at the "Images" quilt show in Lowell! Lots of nice comments from quilters walking by~ Thank you for entering it into the show~

Vintage Sheet Quilt~ordering supplies~

I was fascinated by a vintage sheet quilt that I saw on (on my blog list)I was wondering where I could buy a variety of vintage sheet patterns without breaking the bank, so I checked out an Etsy site called and voila! Beautifully packaged assortments of vintage sheet fabric in every color you can imagine~ One stop shopping which I love~ There is a tutorial on the Pins and Thimbles blog for the blocks sizes, etc. Thank you Anne!

Two munchies turning fwee~

These two beautiful flowers of mine are turning three ~Emma on Aug 19th and Tara on Sept 4th~ they belong to my beautiful daughters...
I am working on a quilt for each of them called "Not in Kansas Anymore". They both adore the Wizard of Oz so this one was an easy choice...x2..
