I did the button hole stitch around every applique piece by hand~I could actually do that stitch all day..it took a while. My quilting buddies told me that by the time I basted each piece and sewed them onto the quilt with invisible stitches and then returned to do the button hole stitch, I could have made three quilts by the time I finished...This was a store sample for The Quilted Crow in Boxborough, Ma.
